what is the point of getting a credit card?

Question by yezzir!92!: what is the point of getting a credit card?
lets say i get approved for a $ 10,000 credit card. would i pay the $ 10,000 back at the end of the month if i use it all or would i make monthly payments to pay it off? O r lets say i get approved for a smaller amount like $ 500. If i use it all at once would i pay it all back at the end of the month or pay payments each month until i pay it off. Also, how do personal loans work? And can I get one the same day i turn 18? (3 weeks).

Whatever you spend MAKE SURE its paid of by end of month. Once you miss one payment it can go bad bad bad.
Just don't spend what you can't pay by end of month. If you do that theres really no harm in them.

Credit allows you to buy something now without the cash in hand. It's a loan. You are expected to pay it back monthly plus interest on the balance.

Debt is slavery. If you don't mind that, then borrowing money might appeal to you. I never had credit and have never needed it. If I don't have the money in hand, I don't need whatever it is.
