How To Get A Credit Card

25

Each year people rack up thousands of dollars in credit card debt that could have been avoided. If you have one or more of these cards or are thinking about applying then there are a few things you should consider. Here is a list of helpful tips to help you stay out of debt.

Some companies charge hundreds of dollars in yearly fees. You should always read the fine print and know exactly what you are getting. These fees will be capped soon but some companies are charging more interest to make up the difference. One news report said some people with low credit scores would be getting cards with a 79.9 percent interest rate.

If a company sends you a card you don't have to accept it. Having more cards may mean more fees and if you can't afford this then you could end up in trouble quickly. You should only buy what you can afford to pay for and save credit for emergencies.

Always know exactly how much the fees and interest rate is for each card you have. You should also ask about any late fees and over limit fees. These can raise your bill quite a bit and you won't even be expecting it. This also helps you to budget and know when you have to pay to avoid fees.

If you need a line of credit but you have a low credit score then you may have a hard time getting good rates. If this is the case you may want to work on your credit score some before applying for new lines of credit. Having less fees and interest will help keep you out of debt.

Paying over the limit fees can add up quickly. You should be aware that late fees, interest fees, and many other things may contribute to your total and put you over your limit. You should always know what you balance is and any charges that have not yet been added to your statement. Prepaid credit cards can help you avoid some of this. They word the same as regular cards but with no interest or monthly fees. They can also be used exactly the same.

Staying out of credit card debt can be tricky at best. Keeping debt down can help you save money. Spend wisely and keep your debt under control for better credit scores.

I think it is great what the Secretary of Ag is doing for farmers & ranchers but why aren't rural totally disabled Veterans allowed to participate in the water well program, 1% for 20 years when their only income is from VA & Social Security? IT takes more money for a totally disabled veteran to live on than a non-disabled person. Farmers & ranchers are allowed to participate by just counting there net income, income after all bills are paid. Why don't I get to subtract the cost of a well & expenses related to disability to get the 1% loan? I have a 300ft well that I can only get water down to 265 ft & it will cost me so much to get 35ft of sand out that I need a new well. Our water table has dropped 50ft in 16 years. I am not a farmer or rancher but I have lots of trees that provide homes to hundreds of birds & I have a flock of yellow-breasted-necked black birds that come every winter to live. A new well to water the trees & furnish water for my home cost $15-$20k & I can't afford to replace it. I have fallen on hard times, a low credit score, but still need a water well. Why can't USDA help me, I can afford to repay $20K at $125.00/mo? Why is there no program for me? I have never missed a payment on my Home but my credit score reflects a foreclosure because a family member died and I was responisbile for the home she lived in!
Please pass this to the Secretary of Agriculture or whomever modifies USDA water well policy or can make exception to the rule for helping rural Americans get a new water well.

I have been a long standing member of justin.tv for close to two years and have witnessed their tremendous growth and enhancements. Additionally I am one of their news columnists on their website in which I write for their headlines feature. I have to say that this site has been a tremendous source for networking and I believe Justin.tv can surpass their already amazing potential with further consideration for those active members that dedicate their time to globally assist in translating this website's new technologies and advances to non US members.

Peg, I did not care for either of the two parties candidates. However, knowing that the vote was needed, I decided to vote for the lesser of the two evils. Although Obama made good speeches and said things a lot of people wanted to hear, I was very concerned where he was getting the tremendous amount of money for his campaign. With the economy the way it is, I cannot believe that his donations were from the regular population, but rather more special interest groups than we could possibly know. And then he was getting prepaid credit cards that are untraceable as to the donor, which I think should be outlawed in the future. So you see I did vote for McCain. I do not believe he will keep us in the predicament we are in and it will strongly depend on who is in the Senate and House as to how our country will fare.

Sorry for the delay Mark – I did not see this message until now! This must have something to do with a new line or some character before your glass_id1. I tried it with the following php code:

And it worked fine. Make sure that there are no new lines or any other characters before glass_id1 – you could put other variable pairs before it as long as it is cgi format. New lines are not cgi format. So if it is a text field put all your variables on the first line.
