Debt Consolidation: The Plain Simple Truth

15

With an average American household today running anywhere from $10,000 in debt a huge part of that is credit card debt. Living well beyond your means has totally taken its toll. There is a great sinking feeling that will come naturally to someone's mind that common people like you and me are going poor and seeing the inevitable happening to them when they see that they owe some monthly payment toward their credit cards adjusted only the interest they owe and the total principal due remains the same. Truth be told is that interest that remains unpaid will add up toward the master amount. This is the problem. You are revolving debt and it will not go on forever. This fire will take its toll and should be taken care of now. Take a good look at what the interest rate you are paying on your credit cards and you'll be amazed on the crazy 20% percent your paying per annum.

If you consolidated your credit in a debt consolidation loan you could pay off your entire credit card debt at only a low 13% per year.. This will work out to a great saving of 15% on your rate and is a bigger reduction on your interest that you outgo with you monthly payment that's as much as 60% of what your paying. So for example if you paid a whopping $1000 dollars in monthly payments every month now you can paid only a small amount of $400 dollars only. This makes a big difference. It's the best of both worlds by leaving you more money each month in your hand and gives you a better financial position by paying off your debts. You can expect to become debt free and be a lot happier. All this could happen with financial prudence and care. You should be very careful thought about finding a good lender who will provide these funds for getting rid of your credit card debt in one swoop. Understand, that you need to take care of your loan and do not fail or you'll end up where you started paying even more over a longer period of time with a huge amount of interest. Real care should be taken with making sure you get a proper debt consolidation loan.

It's vital to understand that to get your interest rate to be lower you need to provide some collateral which will be your house or property you own. If you do not take enough care in paying your monthly dues promptly you are in danger of losing your house. Remember that the lender can do what they want if you default on the loan because it's fully secured and those are the terms you signed on.

Now a proper financial discipline should be maintained with respect to your credit cards. One pitfall that many people get into is since your due have be fully paid you might be tempted that you can continue to spend like you did in the past with your credit cards. If you are not careful again you may run into multiple debts.

Also remember you are still in debt and your roof over your head is in stake. Carefully select a lender with clean records for your debt consolidation loan. You can barter for better terms and check out all the options before you make a decision that will make your life better.

Sally,
I like the comparison that you made between the two male characters in Sab and Pedro Paramo. It is interesting that the two villains marry to better their financial position while their wives to be are totally unsuspecting and actually believe that their husbands to be are in love with them. After the illusions have faded, both Dolores and Carlota realize their husbands true intentions, but a little too late since they have already forefited their fortunes. It makes me wonder how often inheritances were taken in to account in 19th and 20th century Latin America with respect to marriage. It seems to be a theme.
While the styles of these two novels differ drasticlaly, with Juan Rulfo being elusive and Gomez de Avellaneda being descriptive about inner emotions, something draws me these two stories. I think because I enjoy imagining how life might have been in Cuba and Mexico in more recent history. I think their stories are told in a way that makes you believe that thes might have been the stories of many.

A debt consolidation loan has many advantages. It can reduce high interest rates and simplify monthly payments by reducing them to one. However, individuals must do their part by learning to spend wisely and responsibly. Debt consolidation loans have some drawbacks as well. They can be seen by some lenders as a warning sign that a prospective borrower is in trouble. Another drawback is that some debt consolidation lenders will ask that you put up collateral before they grant the loan.

Let’s say that Gore doesn’t live totally carbon neutral lifestyle. I bet he’s a hell of a lot closer than “the average American household” and closer than the people jumping all over the story. That's just the thing. I don't think that's true. The average American household isn't a mansion. Buying carbon credits, while perhaps easing the guilt of a high-consumption lifestyle, still doesn't take Gore's carbon out of the atmosphere. Cheers, Robert]]>
